Elly Braund Dancer
Elly was born in Cornwall, where she began dancing at a young age. She first performed in The Place Theatre at the age of ten with Angela Praed Dance. She trained at Laban conservatoire for contemporary dance, graduating in 2011.
Elly joined Richard Alston Dance Company in 2011, and has performed in many works by Sir Richard Alston and associate choreographer Martin Lawrance. Touring and performing in festivals and theatres across the world including ‘Fall for Dance’ New York, ‘Schrittmacher’ Aachen, Germany, ‘Context’ festival Moscow. Elly has also performed in works by Joseph Toonga, Kerry Nicholls, Travis Clausen-knight, Martha Graham and Merce Cunningham. Elly is in the London cast for ‘Night of 100 solos: a Centennial Event’ performing in commemoration of Merce Cunningham. In 2015 she received her Masters Degree in Contemporary Dance from London Contemporary Dance School. Elly was Dancing Times dancer of the month in October 2017.
